Instructions to Authors
The Virosa Journal of Quantum Biology and Biomedicine (VJQBB) is dedicated to advancing high-quality interdisciplinary research at the intersection of quantum science, molecular biology, biomedicine, and computational life sciences. The journal welcomes submissions from researchers, academics, clinicians, physicists, computational scientists, and interdisciplinary innovators across the globe. To ensure a seamless submission and publication process, authors are requested to carefully review and follow the guidelines outlined below.
Scope of the Journal
VJQBB publishes scholarly work that explores the principles and applications of quantum theory within biological and biomedical systems. The journal encourages contributions that advance scientific understanding in areas such as quantum effects in biological processes, quantum medicine, quantum sensing, molecular biophysics, quantum-inspired drug discovery, and computational quantum biology. Interdisciplinary studies integrating physics, chemistry, biology, computational models, and biomedical technologies are particularly encouraged. All submitted work should reflect scientific rigor, novelty, and relevance to the evolving field of quantum biology and biomedicine.
Manuscript Categories
VJQBB accepts several categories of scholarly submissions. Authors may submit original research articles presenting new empirical findings, review articles offering comprehensive evaluations of ongoing developments, case studies describing real-world scientific applications, short communications reporting preliminary but impactful insights, and technical notes detailing methodological or experimental innovations. Editorials and perspective pieces may be submitted by invitation or with prior approval from the editorial office.
General Submission Requirements
All manuscripts must be written in English and prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Authors must ensure that their work is free from plagiarism; all manuscripts undergo similarity screening before peer review. Authorship should accurately reflect contributions, and ghost or honorary authorship is strictly prohibited. The journal encourages authors whose first language is not English to seek professional editing support to ensure clarity and readability.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Title Page
The title page should contain the full title of the manuscript, written clearly and concisely. Include the full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, complete addresses, and ORCID identifiers where applicable. The corresponding author’s full contact details including email, telephone number, and mailing address must be provided to ensure smooth communication throughout the review process.
Abstract and Keywords
Each manuscript must include a structured abstract of 150–250 words, summarizing the study’s background, methods, results, and conclusions. Following the abstract, provide four to six keywords in lowercase, separated by semicolons. These keywords should accurately reflect the manuscript’s scientific content and support discoverability.
Main Text
The main text should follow a logical scientific structure, including an introduction that outlines the research problem and objectives, a materials and methods section detailing all experimental or computational procedures, a results section presenting findings clearly with appropriate figures or tables, and a discussion section interpreting the outcomes in context with existing literature. A concluding paragraph should summarize the study’s contributions and significance.
Figures and Tables
Figures must be submitted in high-resolution formats (JPG, PNG, or TIFF) with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Tables should be provided in an editable format rather than as images. All figures and tables must be numbered consecutively and accompanied by clear, descriptive captions.
References
References should follow APA 7th edition or Vancouver style and must be used consistently throughout the manuscript. Include DOIs or URLs where available. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all cited sources.
Ethical and Research Integrity Standards
Manuscripts involving human or animal subjects must include explicit statements confirming approval by a recognized ethics committee or institutional review board. Informed consent is required for all studies involving human participants. Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest. Misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, or duplicate submission will result in immediate rejection and may lead to institutional notification.
Submission and Processing
Manuscripts may be submitted via the online submission portal available on the journal website or directly through email at [email protected]. Each submitted article undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer review process, with evaluation by at least two qualified reviewers. Authors will receive reviewer feedback for revisions where applicable. The final decision on publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
To support global knowledge dissemination and maintain high editorial standards, VJQBB does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees. All accepted articles are published entirely free of cost.
Copyright and Licensing
VJQBB operates under an open access publishing model. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing unrestricted use, sharing, adaptation, and distribution, provided appropriate credit is given to the authors and the journal. Authors retain full copyright while granting VJQBB the right of first publication.
Reviewer Suggestions
Authors are welcome to suggest up to three potential reviewers with relevant expertise. Suggested reviewers must not have recent collaborations or conflicts of interest with any authors. The editorial team may consider but is not obligated to use these recommendations.
Pre-Submission Checklist
Before submission, authors should ensure that the manuscript is properly formatted, the title page is complete, the abstract and keywords are accurate, figures and tables are correctly labeled, references follow a consistent style, ethical approvals are included, and all disclosures are clearly stated. Ensuring completeness at submission helps accelerate the review process.
