Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Open Access Policy

The Virosa Journal of AI in Science and Healthcare (VJASH) is committed to the principles of immediate and unrestricted access to scientific knowledge. We believe that removing subscription barriers accelerates the global exchange of ideas, supports innovation, and fosters equitable participation in research and scholarship across all regions of the world.

1. Immediate Open Access : gold open access

All articles published in VJASH are made available freely and immediately upon publication. Readers anywhere in the world have unlimited access to the full text of articles without the need for registration, subscription fees, or institutional access.

2. Licensing

VJASH publishes all content under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits:

  • Unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium

  • Remixing, adapting, and building upon published work for any lawful purpose

  • Proper attribution to the original author(s) and the source

This ensures that research published in VJASH can be widely disseminated and used to advance science, healthcare, and education.

3. Author Rights

Authors publishing with VJASH retain full copyright of their work. By submitting an article, authors grant the journal the right of first publication, while maintaining their ability to:

  • Deposit the final published version in institutional or subject repositories

  • Share copies with colleagues, students, or collaborators

  • Republish in edited volumes, books, or future works with acknowledgment of prior publication in VJASH

4. Alignment with Global Standards

This policy reflects the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and is consistent with the guidelines of DOAJ, COPE, ICMJE, and Plan S. VJASH is committed to transparency, ethical publishing, and ensuring that research outcomes are accessible to the widest possible audience.

5. Long-term Accessibility

To ensure long-term preservation and continued accessibility, VJASH is committed to implementing industry-standard digital archiving practices (e.g., PKP PN, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS) to guarantee permanent availability of published content.

Original Research Articles

Reports of original and novel research in AI applications across science and healthcare, including clinical diagnosis, imaging, drug discovery, big data, and intelligent systems.

Abstract: Structured (max. 250 words).

Review Process: Double-blind peer review

Other Requirements: Ethical approval where applicable, clear methodology, and APA/AMA style references.

Review Articles

Comprehensive analyses of the literature on AI-driven scientific and healthcare topics, highlighting challenges, opportunities, and research gaps.

Abstract: Unstructured (max. 300 words).

Review Process: Double-blind peer review

Other Requirements: Must synthesize current knowledge and propose future directions.

Short Communications / Case Studies

Brief, focused reports of preliminary results, pilot studies, or impactful case applications of AI in science and medicine.

Abstract: Structured (150–200 words).

Review Process: Double-blind peer review

Other Requirements: Concise methods, results, and discussion.

Commentaries & Perspectives

Expert opinions, ethical viewpoints, or policy implications of AI in healthcare and research. Encourages scholarly debate.

Abstract: Optional.

Review Process: Editorial review (peer review when deemed necessary).

Other Requirements: Must provide original, well-argued perspectives.

Editorials

Written by Editors or Guest Editors to introduce an issue, highlight key themes, or set the scope of the journal.

Review Process: Editorially reviewed (not externally peer-reviewed)
